Wayne F. McCormick (Retired) B.A., LL.B.

Raised principally in Kitchener-Waterloo, Wayne obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Waterloo in 1971 before relocating to Toronto to pursue a career in law. In 1974, he graduated with his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and articled for a predecessor firm of McCormick, Haney, Brimblecombe & Code LLP before being called to the Bar in 1976.

Wayne remained with the firm until his retirement at the end of 2016. His practice focused almost exclusively on defence work for insurance companies, including personal injury claims caused by MVAs, slip and falls, and other traumatic events. Additional services included property damage losses, subrogated claims and coverage opinions.

Over the course of his career, Wayne ambitiously conducted a great number of trials in the then County Court of Ontario, the Supreme Court of Ontario and its successor, the Superior Court of Ontario. He has argued Appeals before both the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, downhill and water skiing, as well as spending time with friends and family.
