Peter T.M. Haney B.A., LL.B./J.D., LL.M.
Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Peter would remain an enduring presence in the region he had always called home until ultimately completing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Wilfrid Laurier University. Determining that he had reached the limit of what ambitions he could satisfy locally, he made a geographic transition and successfully accomplished a joint LLB/JD Program offered by the Universities of Windsor and Detroit. Then, rounding out his already impressive academic career, he migrated one last time and obtained his LLM from King’s College at the University of London.
Called to the Bar in 1988, Peter soon launched his lengthy law career in 1989 at the predecessor firm to McCormick, Haney, Brimblecombe & Code LLP, proving himself a valuable resource. Primarily concentrating on defence work for insurance companies, his expertise includes personal injury claims caused by MVAs, slip and falls, and other traumatic events in addition to property damage losses, subrogated claims, and coverage opinions.
Peter has conducted a significant number of trials at the Superior Court level and has argued Appeals before the Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, sailing, and spending time with friends and family.
