Lisa M. Code B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., LL.B.
From the beginning, Kitchener-Waterloo would remain a cornerstone of Lisa's life, a silent witness to her grade school accomplishments, a high school graduation, and the inevitable journey into her post-graduate studies at the University of Waterloo. It was at UW in 1995, that she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Honours Biology; graduating on the Dean’s Honours List in the process. Not satisfied with the status quo, Lisa pushed on and in 1999 obtained a Master of Science Degree in Biology, during which she enjoyed a Teaching Assistant position in Human Physiology and was the recipient of a number of Graduate Scholarships and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology. During her academic career, she has been published numerous times in various scientific journals.
While continuing to reside in Kitchener-Waterloo and raising a young family, Lisa commuted to the University of Western Ontario in London, where she achieved her Bachelor of Laws. During her studies she enjoyed acting as a Student Advisor and a member of Science and Law. Called to the Bar in 2007, Lisa brought her enthusiasm, dedication and experience to McCormick, Haney, Brimblecombe & Code LLP, and its predecessor. As an experienced insurance lawyer, her practice includes the defence of personal injury claims, property damage claims, defective consumer product claims, commercial general liability claims, and subrogated recovery actions, and coverage opinions. Lisa also possesses experience with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board matters.
Lisa has appeared before the Divisional Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Small Claims Court.
Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
